If you are on F2P, you can smith steel plates, then alch for 1200 gp ea.
If you are a member, fletch yew long bows for 768 gp ea, or magic long bows for 1.5k gp ea
Here is a guide on how to get nature runes for free and member players if you can not make your own.http://www.wikihow.com/Get-Nature-Runes-…

I don’t think there’s actually a way to lose less than 100gp per alch. Since the new updates, you can no longer the the XP from high alching for free.
The cost of the nature rune, and fire staff is to high. Meaning the extra item you buy will maybe cost less than how much you get for alching it, but the nature rune just causing money problems. As you are no longer able to buy items cheap and alch to get a profit.

Alching is never used to make money it is a easy way to level magic without losing too much money. For instance you buy 3k yew longs 3k nats and sit down for 3 hours and alch all of those you can go from level 66-70 pretty easy and you only lose about 100k.

The best item I’ve found for f2p is green d’hide bodies. This will not make you money however. Best case, you’ll come close to breaking even with the cost of the nature rune (250-300).
It is the cheapest way to train magic quickly though.

First, you get the runes, then, you use it on something you buy for lower money than you make money from, from alcking it.

High alchemy sucks. New style of trade sucks. Value sucks. Don’t alch. Ripoff.
